The International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) is proud to participate in the fourth edition of the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, organized by the General Authority for Literature, Publishing and Translation. This cultural event, which has been a significant part of the kingdom\u2019s vibrant cultural scene for five decades, will take place from September 26 to October 5, 2024, on the campus of King Saud University in Riyadh, spanning 10 days. The exhibition will be open during the week from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., except for Fridays, when it will run from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m., starting on the opening day, Thursday, September 26. This year, Qatar will be the guest of honor at the Riyadh International Book Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through its pavilion located in )E \u2013 80(, the institute will showcase a number of its prestigious publications on Iranian, regional, and international affairs. These include a series on Iranian issues, the Rasanah Annual Strategic Report 2024<\/em> available in both Arabic and English, and the peer-reviewed Journal for Iranian Studies<\/em>. Additionally, the institute will showcase several books, including: The Military Institution in Iran Between the State and the Revolution<\/em>, The Jurisprudence of Waiting<\/em>, The Centrality of Iraq in the Iranian Strategic Mentality<\/em>, The Arab Other in Modern Iranian Thought<\/em>, The Jurist, Religion and Authority<\/em>, Khomeini in France<\/em>, The Iranian Role in Yemen<\/em>, Iranian Infiltration in the Maghreb Countries<\/em>, Democracy in Iran<\/em>, The Iranian Presence in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa<\/em>, Sectarian Protests and Social Mobilization in Iran<\/em>, The Iranian-Saudi Conflict After 2011<\/em>, Iranian Hacking Groups and Digital Militias<\/em>, Silent Victims<\/em>, The Iranian Geopolitical Project and Regional Security<\/em>, and The Encyclopedic Military Dictionary<\/em>, published in three languages: Arabic, English, and Persian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The institute will also feature its latest publications, such as Jurists and Governance in Iran<\/em>, the English edition of Towards a New Strategic Thinking<\/em>, the Arabic version of Under the Leader\u2019s Cloak<\/em>, the English version of Iran\u2019s Policies Towards the Caucasus and Central Asia<\/em>, and Iran\u2019s Cultural Centers in Europe: Roles, Dimensions and Limits of Influence<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the notable recent publications is The War in Ukraine: The Future of Wars and Liberal Globalization<\/em> by Dr. Ahmed al-Qarni. The book, spanning 266 pages, is divided into three comprehensive chapters, each addressing independent themes. The first chapter, titled \u201cA Geopolitical Earthquake Strikes Europe,\u201d examines the repercussions of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and its impact on the European continent and beyond, as well as the influence of NATO expansion on European stability. The chapter highlights how the war has profoundly affected the European arena, both within the continent and in the context of international relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The second chapter, \u201cThe Ukrainian Crisis Will Change the Rules of the Game in Future Wars,\u201d discusses the far-reaching consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war, which it perceives as serving Moscow\u2019s legitimate interests. It also addresses the European Union\u2019s re-evaluation of its strategic priorities, China\u2019s increasing influence, Russia\u2019s evolving position as a middle or rising power, and the opportunities for the Middle East to position itself within this emerging global order.
