{"id":14410,"date":"2026-06-25T15:31:53","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T12:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rasanah-iiis.org\/english\/?p=14410"},"modified":"2026-06-25T15:31:54","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T12:31:54","slug":"journal-for-iranian-studies-jis-no-23-is-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rasanah-iiis.org\/english\/news\/journal-for-iranian-studies-jis-no-23-is-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Journal for Iranian Studies (JIS), no. 23 Is Out"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Journal for Iranian Studies (JIS) no. 23, comprising eight papers, written by researchers specialized in Iranian affairs, is out now.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first paper, \u201cThe Paradox of \u2018Peace Through Strength\u2019 in Operation Epic Fury\u201d by Naveed Ahmad,&nbsp; a security policy fellow at the International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah), examines the 2026 US\/Israel-Iran conflict as a critical test of the Trump administration\u2019s national security architecture, analyzing the friction between the National Security Strategy\u2019s vision of \u201cunprecedented peace\u201d and the National Defense Strategy\u2019s \u201cpeace through strength\u201d doctrine. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second paper, \u201cIran and the Strait of Hormuz as a Tool&nbsp; of Influence in Asymmetric Warfare:<br>Deterrence Opportunities and the Sustainability Dilemma\u201d by Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Abu al-Qasim, a researcher at the International Institute for Iranian Studies and Editorial Director of the Journal of Iranian Studies (JIS), explores the emergence of the Strait of Hormuz as a key tool of influence in the conflict between the United States and Iran. The United States\u2019 attack on Iran and its efforts to topple the ruling establishment effectively opened the door for maritime traffic to be disrupted in the strait. Given the severe global repercussions \u2014 particularly for energy security and the supply of strategic commodities \u2014 this Iranian strategy has been an important factor shaping the trajectory of the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third paper, \u201cIran\u2019s Neo-Persian Strategy Between Setbacks and Persistence\u201d&nbsp; by Prof. Abdullah Kiran, professor of Political Science and International Relations within the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Mu\u015f Alparslan University in Mu\u015f, T\u00fcrkiye,&nbsp; emphasizes Iran\u2019s traditional Persian identity and efforts&nbsp; to restore Iran as both a regional and international power.
