Wondering about the possible areas where changes will be introduced, the editorialist states, “The most important demands of the people are concerned with transition from stagnation, job creation and the improvement of living standards, so from our point of view, the most important change must be in the current economic team of the government, and the change of ministers and office-holders at the top of the list of guesses dealing with these the changes”.
The editorialist suggests that to reach the required level economically, as Rouhani pledged in his campaign, can only be accomplished by changing the government’s economic team, concluding from this that this means there is a strong possibility of Rouhani changing the ministers of economy, work, and health. The editorial speculates about some possible changes in the administration line-up, including the replacement of the current health minister Jahangiri, who the writer suggests might be reassigned to head the Tehran municipality or even the Ministry of Industry, which falls under his area of expertise, as well as speculating on possible replacements for Interior Ministry officials and domestic and overseas security officials.
An Editorial in “Siasatrouz” Newspapers on Wednesday 24 May 2017

» The need to review policies to escape isolation
An editorial in Wednesday’s Bahar suggests that Iran needs to change its foreign policies in light of the new international alliances; particularly the alliance between Saudi Arabia and its Sunni Arab and Islamic neighbors, which the writer says, is being formed in order to besiege and isolate Iran. The writer adds, “Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia is important and contains very important messages. America, despite Trump’s campaign statements, is still interested in the Middle East, and this visit is a kind of show of strength for Saudi Arabia, which has been able to bring together the Arab and Islamic countries surrounding it. The message from this visit is that Saudi Arabia wants to isolate us, that it is serious about it, that it has new plans, and that there is a conflict between the Sunni world and the Shiite world, not only Saudi Arabia but all the Islamic countries, all of them Sunni. ”
The writer argues that this issue, which has deep-seated religious and ideological dimensions will ultimately lead to the isolation of Iran, both religiously and politically, adding that legislation is being drafted by these nations to reduce ties with Iran. The editorial also suggests that the Saudi defense minister sent another message during his brief address at the recent summit in Riyadh when he said that Saudi Arabia had become the strongest country in the region and has no further concerns.
The writer asserts that due to these changes Iran should end its regional military interventions and consider the issue logically, psychologically and socially, especially after the re-election of Rouhani in the recent presidential election, arguing that Iran can pursue a diplomatic path during the upcoming period under Rouhani’s moderate government.
The author continues, “Such a reconsideration, of course, concerns all regime officials, especially the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, i.e., we should not take revenge. It is wrong. We must reconsider our policies and adopt a more moderate policy […] We do not have a single friendly neighbor, and this requires that our politicians give up their retaliation. This method of thinking is no longer of any benefit to us. Every day the region and the world become increasingly hostile to Iran, and the missiles we are launching will only lead to us becoming more politically isolated. Therefore, we should reconsider and review our regional policies.”
An Editorial in “Bahar” Newspapers on Wednesday 24 May 2017

» 40 for 1440
This editorial handled the results of the Iranian presidential elections. It is trying to justify the fall of the hardliner Ibrahim Raisi against the Reformers and Fundamentalists candidate Hassan Rouhani. According to the editorial, there are many reasons for Raisi fall, “Raisi’s votes (16 Million) could have been doubled but what happened?
1. Rouhani had all capabilities over the past four years such as the media. He used these means for his own interest as much as he could. On the other hand, Raisi did not have any equal capabilities and faced a wave of accusations on all levels.
2. Rouhani had a 4-year opportunity to promote himself, which means 1440 days against 40 days for Raisi who allocated two weeks only for the provinces and received 16 million votes.”
The editorial asserted that Raisi could have doubled his votes (30 million) had he had a 4-year opportunity for promotion. “The government broke the laws in the elections and utilized all its capabilities to support Rouhani,” the editorial said. “The statements of some ministers in the voting not only illegal but also unethical. Raisi did not have all those capabilities and some violations happened in some polling centers.”
The editorial refers to the most important weapon used against Raisi, which was intimidation of people when it said, “In an unethical and unusual behavior supported by foreign media, the government worked hard to convince people that if they do not vote for Rouhani and support Raisi, they have to expect an American military attack, which means that it was covering up its failure over the past four years.”
The editorial believes that Raisi’s achievement in light of the aforementioned circumstances is a big victory for the revolutionist camp and that the coalition between the revolutionary parties was exemplary.
An Editorials in “Kayhan” Newspaper on Sunday, May 21, 2017

» Why are we scared of Young People?
This editorial criticized the state of doubt and hesitation that spreads through the Iranian society because of the regime’s practices. It added, “Mr. President, the individual being subject to constant monitoring, guidance, and inspection is being humiliated and does not care about his and the other’s interests. It finally gave an advice to Rouhani to rely on the normal and middle classes and young people as well.
