\nThis editorial sheds light on the catastrophic situation of children in Iran, pointing to recent tragedies in this regard, including rape and murder of 6-year-old Setayesh in Tehran suburbs, rape and murder of 7-year-old Atena in Ardebil in northern Iran, death of 8-month-old Benita in her father\u2019s stolen car in Tehran, and death of 10-year-old Parsam due to medical malpractice in Sanandaj in western Iran.
\nThe writer maintains that children are victims of such tragedies every year in Iran. Children\u2019s rights and its requirements are still of secondary importance in this country. There is neither any investments in education about children\u2019s rights, nor any bill on protecting children\u2019s rights has been ratified by the Iranian parliament yet.
\nThis editorial lists multiple reasons for children\u2019s facing such catastrophes in Iran such as the failure of the government, society, and citizens to take proper care of this issue, as well as inattention to children\u2019s situation, weaknesses of the law or not enforcing it properly.

\nThis editorial focuses on strategies to prevent popular Persian-language satellite TV networks from impacting their viewers in Iran. The writer believes such TV networks by dominating the minds of Iranian youth can jeopardize the future of the Iranian Republic regime.
\nMore than 60% of people in Iran watch a large number of Persian-language satellite TV networks that are active against the Iranian Republic of Iran establishment, according to the editorial. The reasons why people are drawn so such networks include censorship in IRIB (Iran state TV), lack of entertaining, appealing programs on IRIB, and people\u2019s interest in immoral shows aired from satellite TV networks.
\nIn order to attract the viewers of satellite TV networks, says the editorial, IRIB should institutionalize honesty in its organization, produce more appealing shows to meet the expectations of Iranian youth while observing religious standards, and also produce programs in which threats and attacks by satellite networks are addressed.
\nThe writer also rules out jamming satellite signals or rounding up satellite dishes from people\u2019s homes as short-term solutions which can only temporarily disrupt people\u2019s access to satellite TV networks.
\nAn Editorial in ‘Asr Iranian’ Newspaper on Monday, Jul. 31st, 2017<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThis editorial addresses recent tensions between Russia and the U.S., focusing on measures taken by the two countries against each other.
\nThe writer says following the fresh sanctions set against Russia by U.S. Congress, Russian President Vladimir Putin expelled 755 American diplomats from his country, an unprecedented measure since 1986.
\nThe editorial also quotes a number of Russian authorities in this regard, such as Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov who said the U.S. needs to recover from what he called \u201cpolitical schizophrenia\u201d, and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov who noted, \u201cIf the U.S. side decides to move further towards further deterioration, we will answer…We will retaliate.\u201d
\nThe writer also states that the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence reacted to Russians by saying that he and President Trump hopes to see \u201cdifferent behavior by the Russian government, with regard to Ukraine, with regard to supporting rogue regimes in Iran and North Korea.\u201d
\nFinally, the editorialist juxtaposes two pieces of news: First, an announcement by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite about the U.S. increasing its military presence on the territory of Lithuania on September 14-20 when the Russia-Belarus joint military exercises will be held. Second, Russia\u2019s recent showcasing of two of its largest nuclear-powered vessels at the Navy Day parade in St. Petersburg.

\nThis editorial focuses on the way Hassan Rouhani\u2019s government is dealing with the issue of the house arrest of Iran\u2019s Green Movement leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karroubi and Zahra Rahnavard.
\nThe writer first quotes the government spokesperson Mohammad Baqer Nobakht as saying that since the former government was responsible for the house arrest, it should be held accountable for it too. Rouhani\u2019s government uses what the \u201cformer government\u201d did as an excuse in many fields, especially the economy and foreign policy. Although criticizing the former government and addressing the roots of problems is often necessary, it cannot be acceptable about each and every issue, including the house arrest.
\nThe editorial finds it understandable that the former President Ahmadinejad\u2019s radical approaches led to house arrest of Mousavi, Karroubi, and Rahnavard, once supporters of the Iranian Republic establishment. Yet it poses this question: what has Rouhani\u2019s government done in the past four years in this regard?
\nRouhani\u2019s limitations and Nobakht\u2019s concerns in this regard are comprehensible, but during the recent presidential elections in Iran, people from all over the country voiced their demands about house arrest of their leaders. The society can no longer accept silence or ambiguity and needs clarification about this issue, concludes the editorialist.

\nSpokesperson of Iran\u2019s Atomic Energy Organization Behrouz Kamalvandi said regarding Britain preventing Iran from purchasing uranium that this issue is being followed up, and was discussed in the sideline of the joint commission. He added that Britain was asking for some justifications, which were offered.
\nAs for his recent trip to Russia, Kamalvandi said that the issue of two reactors was discussed, and it is almost 9 months ahead of the schedule. Kamalvandi said regarding mutual measures of Iran against new sanctions, and in case America doesn\u2019t fulfill its obligations that \u201cwe have given some measures like a tool box to the supervisory board.\u201d Spokesperson of Iran\u2019s Atomic Energy Organization said if JCPOA is blatantly violated, measures in technical field will be taken.

Salehi emphasized on precise and fair narrating of social and political events, adding that nuclear negotiations had drawn the world\u2019s attention, and had a global reverberation.

\nAmnesty International accuses Iran\u2019s security and judiciary organizations of creating a cycle of suppressing human rights defenders through imprisoning and intimidating them, aiming at ending hope for any reforms with regard to human rights.
\nIn its new report, Amnesty International says that a number of human rights defenders and activists in Iran have faced charges of threatening \u201cnational security\u201d, and have been imprisoned. According to this organization, many others have been subjected to surveillance, interrogations, and drawn-out criminal proceedings coercing them into self-censorship.
\nThis organization says the wave of repression appears to be an attempt on the part of the state\u2019s repressive arms to crush any hopes of human rights reform raised by the promises of increased freedom made during Hassan Rouhani\u2019s election campaign.

\nDeputy to Social Affairs in Iran Welfare Organization Ahmad Khaki said 75% of Iranian families are the ground of social damages, meaning that they have either been damaged, or are subject to damages, emphasizing that covert social damages are more than the overt ones. Deputy to Social Affairs asserted that currently the number of centers for intervention in crisis is low and not sufficient.
\nAhmad Khaki said according to studies, there are three types of families in Iran. 25% of Iranian families are \u201cheavenly\u201d, meaning that they are successful and together. 50% of families are \u201cpurgatorial or in between\u201d, meaning that some members of family are successful, while the others feel suppressed and unsuccessful. 25% of families are \u201chellish\u201d meaning that members of the family absolutely hate each other.

\nWith the presence of Argentine company, the national project of power plants in Khuzestan province will be implemented. Executive manager of a joint investment project said last December, representatives of \u201cIMPSA Argentine\u201d were invited to Iran for investing in power plant projects in the country.
\nThe executive manager continued after Energy Ministry approved of this company, they were introduced to Water and Electricity Organization through investment management. He added studies estimate that the project will cost $550 million, and it was eventually approved for financing and investment.

\nMembers of Mehdi Karroubi\u2019s family, one of the well-known figures of 2009 protests who is currently under house arrest, issued a statement, saying that \u201crepresentative of Intelligence Ministry is intentionally trying to disrupt the process of treatment\u201d of those who are under house arrests.
\nThe statement was issued after the news of gravity of physical condition of Mehdi Karroubi and Mir-Hossein Mousavi was published. The statement considers Hassan Rouhani\u2019s government and Intelligence Ministry, along with \u201cthe ruler and judiciary system\u201d as responsible for lives of those who are under house arrests.
\nMehdi Karroubi\u2019s family say that the representative of Intelligence Ministry, since the beginning of his activities, has created \u201cnumerous obstacles for those under house arrests and persecuting both families.\u201d

\nDeputy commander of Intelligence of Armed Forces General Staff General Majid Mir-Ahmadi said the country\u2019s economy is threatened by smuggling goods and drugs, as well as human trafficking, adding that at least 30% of the country\u2019s economy is under the impact these threats.

\nCriticizing JEMNA for using military institutes\u2019 assistance, Mir-Salim said people will never vote for military and judiciary elements. He added that when people see a military institute is fighting in war fronts, they will support it, but if they realize that a military institute is after office, they will refuse to support them due to their having weapons.

\nZolfaghar Navy Regiment of IRGC\u2019s navy issued a statement, and called U.S. Navy\u2019s measures in the Gulf during past week \u201cprovocative and unprofessional\u201d.
\nThe statement reads: A few days after a provocative measure of U.S. warship in the north of Gulf with firing warning shots for IRGC patrol vessels, American vessels did the same in the middle area of the Gulf.
\nThe statement adds: USS Nimitz and a second American ship, which were monitored by missile launching vessels of Zolfaghar Navy Regiment, dispatched a helicopter near an oil and gas platform and approached IRGC vessels.
\nIranian vessels ignored the warning flares, according to the statement, and American ships later left the area.
