President of Rasanah Participates in Dushanbe Counter-Terrorism Conference

Founder and President of the International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) Dr. Mohammed Alsulami participated in the conference on “International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorists,”  held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan where he met with  Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Walid bin Abdulrahman al-Rishaidan.

On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Alsulami met with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov.

To enhance Rasanah’s relations with different institutes in Tajikistan; he delivered a lecture at Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended by a number of diplomats. At the lecture, Dr. Alsulami discussed Saudi Arabia’s relations with the countries of Central Asia in general and with Tajikistan in particular, highlighting ways to develop bilateral relations.

He also visited the Center for Strategic Research  (CSR) under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan where he was welcomed by  CSR Director Khairuddin Osmanzadeh. They both expressed their willingness to establish wide-scale scholarly cooperation by  signing a memorandum of understanding between the Tajik think tank and Saudi Arabia’s Rasanah. They confirmed that the text of this memorandum has already been prepared and will be signed in the near future.

Dr. Alsulami met with the administrative team and researchers of the  Institute of Asian and European Studies at the Tajikistan Academy of Sciences in Dushanbe where they discussed issues of common interest and ways to develop cooperation between the two institutes.   Mr. Akram Karimi, Tajikistan’s ambassador to Riyadh, attended the two meetings.
