The International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) has just published the 17th issue of the Journal for Iranian Studies (JIS). The issue includes five research articles and one book review. The first research article by Shadi Abou Karam, a political researcher, entitled “Social Media and Youth Activism: The Case of Generation Z in Iran,” discusses the role and use of social media in student activism. The second research article is authored by Head of Department of Political Thought, College of Political Science, Tikrit University Dr. Husam Kassai Hussein and Assistant Professor of Political Sociology at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, King Saud University Dr. Wedad Abdolrahman al-Karni, entitled “The Iranian Revolution and the Reality of Jews in Iran After 1979.” The third research article by Dr. Hamdi Bashir, a researcher on regional security issues is entitled “The Iranian Drone Program: Role and Scope of Its Influence in Iran’s Foreign Policy.” The fourth research article by Dr. Mohamad Zreik, a PhD holder in international relations, discusses the geopolitical factors and impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on Iran-China relations. The fifth study by Nicolas Verbeek, researcher at Cologne Forum for International Relations and Security Policy (KFIBS), explores German feminist foreign policy in light of the protests that erupted after the death of Mahsa Amini. Finally, the issue is concluded with a book review on Secular Thought Within Islamic Iran. The book is authored by Emad el-Hilali and reviewed by Dr. Mohammed al-Sayyad, a researcher at Rasanah.
