The International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) is participating in the Jeddah International Book Fair (JIBF), which will be held at the Jeddah Superdome from December 12 to December 21, 2024. The JIBF is organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission. Rasanah’s booth will be open from 11:00 am to 12:00 am (except on Friday, when it will open from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am).

The third book examining Iran’s ambitions in Bahrain is authored by Dr. Latifah bint Meiklef al-Shammari. Spanning 287 pages and divided into 10 chapters, it provides an in-depth analysis of the topic.
The first chapter explores the stance of the Persian government on Bahrain from 1783 to 1925, considering the factors that influenced Persia-Bahrain relations during the 19th century. The second chapter addresses the Persian government’s position on Bahrain during the reign of the Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1971). In the third chapter, the author discusses Persian ambitions and the mechanisms employed to pursue them.
The fourth chapter clarifies the Bahrain government’s response to these ambitions, while the fifth chapter highlights the attitudes of the Bahraini population. The sixth chapter examines the Arab response to Persian ambitions, and the seventh chapter delves into the Othman perspective on these aspirations toward Bahrain. The eighth chapter outlines the Western stance regarding Persian ambitions in Bahrain. The ninth chapter reveals the Soviet Union’s position on the matter. Finally, the 10th chapter discusses the response of regional and international organizations to Bahrain’s declaration of independence.
