Rasanah’s Founder and President Meets With a Delegation From Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Italian and Australian Diplomats

Earlier this week, Founder and President of the International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) Dr. Mohammed Alsulami received a number of delegations to discuss bilateral relations and common concerns at the institute’s headquarters. Director of the Konrad-Adenauer- Stiftung’s Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean Canan Atilgan was among the delegates who were joined by senior Rasanah members. The two sides discussed major regional issues as well as ways to strengthen cooperation. Dr. Alsulami also met with Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Riyadh Giuliano Fragnito and Australia’s Deputy Head of Mission to Saudi Arabia William Elischer  during a separate visit. The two sides discussed regional and international issues, shared interests, and ways to advance cooperation. Several senior leaders from Rasanah also attended the meeting. As part of Rasanah’s participation in international conferences and forums, Vice President of Rasanah Dr. Ahmed Daifullah al-Garnim accompanied Rasanah’s Media and Publishing Director Mrs. Asmaa al-Mutairi,  attended an event in Riyadh marking the President of the Republic Day and Constitution Day on the invitation of the Tajik Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Akram Karimi. On the sidelines of the ceremony, the two sides held a press conference. They discussed academic collaboration with Rasanah through the organization of Persian language learning courses at Rasanah’s Training Center, as well as the exchange of research and academic expertise in various fields.

Karimi also lauded Dr. Alsulami’s recent visit to Central Asia and the Caucasus where he discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and signed agreements with think tanks.

Head of Rasanah’s Center of Studies and Research Major General Ahmed al-Maimouni attended the second edition of the Saudi International Maritime Forum 2022 (SIM 2022), which was held in Jeddah from November 15 to November 17. The forum featured 38 speakers from 15 countries as well as specialists, military experts, and academics from within and outside Saudi Arabia.

Maimoni also attended 18th “IISS Manama Dialogue,” held from November 18-20, 2022, and hosted by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IIIS) in Bahrain. It is an annual regional security forum for ministers, policymakers, and experts to discuss the Middle East’s most prominent foreign policy and security challenges.
