Sunday, September 10, 2023: Founding President of Rasanah (International Institute for Iranian Studies) Dr. Mohammed Alsulami and Advisory Board members received a delegation from India at the institute’s headquarters. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the institute and its activities and to sign an MoU to strengthen cooperation between Rasanah and Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF). The visiting delegation consisted of VIF Director Dr. Arvind Gupta and a number of VIF senior fellows, including Lt. Gen. R K Sawhney (retired), former ambassador to Jordan, Libya and Malta Anil Trigunayat and Hirak Jyoti Das as well as top corporate leaders.
VIF is a think tank based in New Delhi, set up through the collaborative efforts of India’s leading security experts, diplomats and philanthropists under the aegis of the Vivekananda Kendra. The VIF’s objective is to become a leading hub for the generation of innovative ideas that can lead to a stronger, secure and prosperous India playing its destined role in global affairs.
The think tank is an independent, non-partisan organization that promotes quality research and in-depth studies and is a platform for dialogue and conflict resolution.
The foundation works to achieve its mission through focusing on six areas of study led by: Centre for National Security and Strategic Studies, Centre for International Relations and Diplomacy, Centre for Neighbourhood Studies, Centre for Governance and Political Studies, Centre for Economic Studies, Centre for Historical and Civilisational Studies.
