A ruling by the Supreme Court states that Iran must pay more than $2 billion for the families of the U.S. terror victims finding that the Islamic Republic is responsible for. Moreover, Iran must turn over assets being held in a New York-based account to be paid out to some 1,000 American victims.
Lawmakers celebrated the decision on Wednesday afternoon describing the decision as a victory for the terror victims. It brings them closer to a measure of relief and justice that has been denied to them for a long time. The lawmakers add that this is a momentous occasion for the more than 1,300 Americans who have been victims of Iranian terror. Iran will be the same threat not just for U.S. but also for the whole world, and as happened to our service members in Iraq. Iran will always be as the same post-revolutionary regime that has stated on countless occasions that it seeks to wipe the democratic Jewish State of Israel off the map.
Patrick Meehan who authored a bill for American terror victims, last year that would prevent the Obama’s administration from lifting sanction against Iran. He described his happiness about the decision stating that it is good news for the victims of Iran terror where no amount can undo the pain of victims and their families.
