A host of Arab ambassadors  headed by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Ambassador of Djibouti to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, visited the headquarters of the International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah), in Riyadh on Wednesday March 17, 2021.

Founder and President of Rasanah Dr. Mohammed Alsulami received the ambassadors and gave a brief overview of the institute and its research papers and publications. He underpinned the institute’s interest in studying current and future  issues to provide decision-makers in the Arab world with in-depth research and analysis. The meeting was attended by a number of researchers and advisors from Rasanah who exchanged their points of view on regional issues and Arab national security and possible means of cooperation.

Dr. Alsulami stressed the significance of strengthening research efforts to address the risks  jeopardizing the Arab countries, especially Iran’s threat. The attendants agreed that it is necessary to collaborate to understand the threat posed by Iran and find means to deal with it.

The ambassadors affirmed that it is essential to hold seminars and workshops in this regard. They also underpinned the vital role of think tanks in supporting decision-making processes, proposing to establish think tanks specialized in studying the affairs of the Arab neighboring countries. They expressed their willingness to contribute in forging research collaboration with Rasanah and other think tanks in Saudi Arabia.
